The purpose of these workshops is to support (primarily) diocesan pastoral development personnel (and leaders in parishes as space allows) in their task of pastoral planning and the facilitation of pastoral planning.

Sessions include:

• The use of discerning approaches in identifying pastoral priorities: methods of reflecting on current real situations in diocese/parish, on ‘findings’ from listening sessions etc. so as to discern what is good for mission, where God is present and calling, i.e. pastoral priorities in the present.
• The possibilities within Action Research methods for devising pastoral strategies: a means of drawing up programmes of action for the future using the distillation of learning from previous action i.e. pastoral strategies for moving forward.
